Frequently Asked Questions

We're here to help

Here are answers to some of our most frequently asked questions.

What should I bring upon dropping off my pet/s?

  • Up to date vaccination records (Dogs C5 vaccination, Cats F3 Vaccination)
  • Bring any dogs on lead & cats in a transport crate.
  • We recommend bringing a blanket and any toys from home, this can assist with your pet settling in if first time boarders.

(Golden Grove Boarding Kennels & Cattery do not take responsibility for lost or damaged bedding, blankets or toys)

Can we come and view your facilities?

Absolutely! We understand that your pets are family, and you’d like to familiarize yourself with where they will be staying. We offer tours by appointment, Monday to Saturday 4:00pm – 5:00pm. Contact Us or Book Now

Please note: We don’t allow pets to tour our facilities as it causes too much unnecessary stress on the dogs & cats boarding, we hope you understand.

Alternatively, check out our Facebook & Instagram pages to better paint a picture of our kennels & cattery.

What do you feed the dogs & cats?

Dogs: Blackhawk lamb & rice biscuits, cooked chicken meatloaf, steamed rice and vegetables.

Cats: Whiskas canned wet food with Blackhawk chicken & rice biscuits.

My pet has special dietary requirements.

We are pleased to announce that we are one of very few boarding kennels who don’t charge extra for you to supply your pet’s meals.

All we ask is that you bring the food, preferably individually bagged, named, labelled with any relevant notes & dates.

Will my dog and or cat be exercised?

Dogs: All dogs are exercised daily, individually 1 on 1 with a staff member for a minimum of 1 x 15minute sessions per day in our 300sq/m grass day run.

Cats: Any cats boarding for upwards of 2 weeks will be exercised daily in our large cattery enclosure.

What if my pet requires a vet?

We have a vet on call 24/7 should your pet require professional attention.

Our staff will communicate with either yourself or your emergency contact throughout the whole time of care.

Do you administer medication?

We don’t charge additional fees to administer medication.

Any medication must be labelled with your pet’s name & clear instructions for administering.

(Golden Grove Boarding Kennels & Cattery will administer tablet & liquid form medication only)

Are the facilities suited for the peak of Summer & Winter?

Our kennels & Cattery are insulated, shaded & fitted with fans and air-conditioners to ensure that even during the hottest months, your pets are comfortable.

Do you offer drop off & pick up service?
